Insulation for a better tomorrow

Insulation of buildings

Insulation of buildings is acting on the building envelope and internal elements in order to reduce thermal losses and avoid acoustic transmissions. Common insulation materials are fibrous (e.g. Glass wool), cellular (e.g. Plastic foams), or granular (e.g. Perlite).

URSA  offers glass mineral wool and extruded polysterene (XPS) insulation materials to cover different building applications .

Glass wool is a mineral wool. It is made out of millions of glass filaments that are fibered and bonded together. Air pockets trapped in the fibers impede thermal and acoustic transmission .

XPS is a foamed plastic. It contains millions of closed cells that trap air inside, thereby impleding
thermal transmission.
