This summer, Amazon Spain is expected to relocate its headquarters from the town of Pozuelo de Alarcón to the new southern area of the city of Madrid. With this move, the company will nearly double its office space in Spain.
The multinational company has chosen one of the buildings from Prado Business Park, managed by AXA IM-Real Estate. Located in Ramírez de Prado street, it occupies what used to be the headquarters of the company Standar Eléctrica (later Alcatel), in the heart of the commercial area of Méndez Álvaro.
URSA Terra is non-flammable, with an excellent performance against fire. Other properties such as an easy and quick installation were appreciated by the construction team when choosing this efficient and sustainable material.
The whole project, designed by the architecture practice L35, has kept a strong focus on environmental criteria. The historical buildings’ façades have been preserved, paying attention not only to insulation, but also installing solar-control glazing, double-glazed windows, microgeneration for domestic hot water production, photovoltaic panels and rainwater storage and reuse. These features have contributed in obtaining the prestigious BREEAM® certificate, in its design phase and with the Excellent level.
Final energy savings are expected to exceed 65%, while water consumption is reduced by 80%.
The Business Park is formed by 3 buildings, each with independent access and facilities, which will be managed individually.
