World Green Building Council has published the new report on net zero buildings, From Thousands to Billions - Coordinated Action Towards 100% Net Zero Carbon Building by 2050. The report is the first major output from the Advancing Net Zero project, on which 10 Established GBCs are involved.
The report sets out the key actions that businesses, governments and NGOs (including GBCs) must take if we are to ensure that all buildings are net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
It was launched yesterday at Canada Green Building Council's conference in Vancouver, following the launch of CaGBC's Zero Carbon Building Standard, the first GBC to develop a certification programme for net zero carbon buildings.
The report was well received on social media with support from UNFCCC, The Climate Group, WRI and New Climate Economy. Follow the hashtag #AdvancingNetZero for the latest activity, or read press coverage of the report in Business Green.
URSA collaborates with the sponsorship of several GBCs in Europe as a sign of its commitment to building sustainability.
